And his face is swollen. Dumbass stuck his nose in a yellow jacket nest one too many times. At least the Benadryl seems to be keeping him from freaking out about all of the fireworks going off.

My dad who is a vet says this kind of systemic reaction to a sting is common and no big deal. It’s freaking me out, but doesn’t seem to bother the dog too much. Maybe it’s all the extra pets he’s getting.

Dogs can be idiots, and cats can as well. Our cats do dumb shit sometimes, but you patch them up and move on.

Poor guy, that’s a drag.

Ours had a bad reaction to a sting, and ended up at the emergency vet after we couldn’t figure out what was wrong, just that he was all worked up and vomiting. The awesome vet noticed his snout was swollen and surmised the sting and anaphylactic reaction, treated it, and he was fine.

The worst part is you can't explain to them what's happening. And to avoid anything buzzing in their direction next time.

Poor guy. My jack Russell mix did the same thing once. Half of her face swelled and the other half stayed mostly normal so it was funny looking. My head knew she'd be fine (gave her Benadryl as well) but my heart worried. No, she didn't learn her lesson.

Yeah the worst part is that he probably will do it again because dog. Then again I got a stung 4 times last week moving a sawhorse outside without checking first so I apparently haven't learned either.

Despite growing up around animals because my dad is a vet, I did not know this either. It looks like it would itch like crazy but it really seems to bother me more than him.
